On May 4th, 2018 Mary will be graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a Masters and Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Systems. She will also be graduating with Honors from the Schreyer Honors College. Following graduation, Mary will begin work at SmithGroupJJR in Washington D.C.

Over her 5 years at Penn State, Mary has completed an internship in construction with Christman Company in Washington D.C., and two internships in mechanical design with Reese Engineering in State College and Vanderweil Engineers in Alexandria, Virginia. Additionally, Mary has worked as a TA at Penn State for two years for the AE Freshman Seminar class and as a study group facilitator for Physics: Mechanics for the women in engineering program.

During her time at school Mary played a very active role in the AE community by serving three years on the board for the Penn State Student Society of Architectural Engineers, two years on the Penn State ASHRAE board, and one year on the AEI national officer board. Mary first served as a Parliamentarian for the SSAE board and then worked her way up to the position of Mentoring Vice President and finally served as the President during her senior year. She also worked with the Penn State Branch of ASHRAE serving as the webmaster during her senior year and Vice President during her 5th year in school. Lastly, Mary served as the Vice President with the National Student Officers on the AEI board during her senior year at Penn State.

Mary has very much enjoyed her time at Penn State working with students, faculty, and industry members serving as both a mentor to younger students and an ambassador to professionals for the program. She hopes to continue her involvement in the industry after graduation and looks forward to starting work in the industry.
