As of May 4th, 2018, Joshua M. Walker will have graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of Architectural Engineering.  Focusing in the Electrical/Lighting option, Joshua has developed a passion for electrical system design.  He enjoys teaching and explaining electrical and lighting controls systems to his peers while researching on his own how these systems are designed, installed, and commissioned.

During his Summer 2016 internship, Josh worked with Kutztown University’s Facilities Management Department to assess the MEP systems within each building on the campus.  With this internship, Josh was able to access mechanical and electrical rooms, inspect various pieces of equipment, and report to his manager any deficiencies.

The following Summer 2017 internship was with Southland Industries at their Dulles, VA office.  Here, Josh worked as an electrical design engineer on a variety of projects.  During his time here, Josh was tasked with drawing single line and riser diagrams, creating electrical plan drawings, visiting job sites to complete punch list items, as well as participating in lunch and learn sessions with electrical and lighting manufacturers.

After graduation, Josh will be moving to Los Angeles, CA to work with EXP as an electrical design engineer.  His experience gained through the Penn State AE program and his internships will aid him during his career.  Working in California will challenge him due to strict design standards such as Title 24.  Additionally, Josh plans to get his PE license.

In his spare time, Josh enjoys photography, lifting, snowboarding, road trips, building computers, and spending time with friends.
